I serve on the Black Bass Advisory Committee for Maryland and recently we were able to get a voluntary donation option added to COMPASS where fishing licenses, etc. are purchased.

Now you can make a donation to this fund through COMPASS any time.

Log in to COMPASS, go to Purchase Merchandise, and click on the Merchandise section to find the Black Bass Conservation Fund option.

These funds are used to purchase bass for remediation stocking, structures for enhancing aquatic habitat, and supplies awarded to directors of black bass tournaments.

Unfortunately the CCBM Upper Bay Open for this Saturday October 21st is going to be postponed and Rescheduled due to High Winds and a Small Craft Warning with a potential Gale Warning.

Small Craft warning is already issued by the National Weather Service today for the Upper Bay starting 2 am Saturday and continuing thru Saturday evening.
Winds Saturday on the Upper Bay are forecast to be sustained 17 to 30 MPH with gusts up to 35+ mph.

We have a lot of teams still in contention for the 2 Bassmaster Team Championship Tournament slots our Series is allotted this year.
Holding a tournament in the above conditions would first and foremost be hazardous but would not allow all our teams to fish as they should.

Safety of all of our contestants dictates that we cannot send boats out in this type of wind.

We all know the actual Bay winds are generally higher than forecast and no one wants to be on the water in these type conditions.

The new date for this 5th Open will be SUNDAY October 29th as we will still have our 5 Points Opens needed to determine the Championship.

Thanks for your understanding on this.
