PRFC Tidal Water Pleasure Boat License!

Not sure if you guys were aware of this.  I know you fish the Potomac and the Bay and it could save you $20.

The Potomac River Fisheries Commission offers a sport fishing boat license (pleasure boat) for $30 that is equivilent to the Maryland Bay Sport License which just increased to $50 this year.  This license should cover you for all of your tidal water fishing in the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River (check website for exact boundries).  It also covers EVERYBODY on the boat!  It is money well spent!  And the $20 savings will get you a couple gallons of gas too!

Unfortunately they do not offer online purchases so you will need download an application and mail it in, but they have a very quick turn around.

Just thought I would let everyone know.

Thanks GMan,
We have already jumped on that bandwagon.  It was a better deal last year for $10 less, and now even better...

your right about the turnaround time.
i received mine two days after i sent in my application.

I pointed this out (last Spring) to the President (R. P.) of MCBC in the hope he would pass it along.  Get on him.

bassboogieman,

Was that you that pointed that out to "General" Patton?  Thank you for that!   I remember him informing us of it last year and I just sent mine in for this year so I thought I would throw it back out there as a reminder too all.  Funny thing is he informed us AFTER he purchased his MD Bay Sport Lic last year and then he went and did the same thing this year, knucklehead!!!  That is the only reason I know the price went up to $50 for MD.  It is better to learn from other's mistakes I always say!

Anyway, $20 is $20 and with the price of gas these days everybody could use a little extra jingle in their pockets.

I figured you guys would be on the ball already, but I didn't want to exclude you.  Plus it is actually nice to get responses from people when you post something.  I kind of feel I am talking to myself over at my message board if you know what I mean!

Pillager

We know exactly what you mean.  The PA state board is pretty much that way as well.

It pays to be an optimist.  Even if you are wrong, you are happy about it.
