Chester County Bass Masters held the 4th of five opens for the season on August 13th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

The sponsor for the tournament was the Nauti Goose restaurant in North East, Md.

24 Teams showed up on one of the hottest days of the year to search for some of the Upper Bays largemouth who are notorious for disappearing during daylight hours in late summer.  The day started warm and humid and proceeded to get hot real quick with temps pushing close to 100 degrees

Air temps at launch were around 82, hitting 98 by weigh in. 10 - 15 winds blew straight up the Bay for most of the day.

Water temps were in the 87 - 89 degree range depending where you fished, with some off colored water in areas of the Northeast.

Launch was on a rising tide with a high around 7:00 sending teams scrambling to find decent water with most heading down to the Flats looking for fish in the grass.

Fishing was tough for the most part with 5 limits brought to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in with 4 bags over 15 pounds.

5 cash places were paid along with 7 sponsor prizes from Nauti Goose Restaurant, Susquehanna Tackle, Cabela's of Christiana Mall, Sunoco, GRT jigs, Hi Seas Line and Mudd Butt Baits.

Thanks to everyone who came out to fish, we and our sponsors appreciate the support.

The next Chester County open will be on Saturday, October 15th out of Anchor Marine.
