Chester County Bass Masters held the last of their 5 Open tournaments for 2017 on November 11th out of Anchor Marine in North East, Maryland.

28 Teams showed up on a bitterly cold fall Saturday to search for some of the Upper Bay's largemouth that had been on the feed the past week with the cooler water temps.

Air temps at launch were around 18, but thankfully no wind. The tournament launched at 6:15 under clear skies some light cloud cover moved in mid morning which remained all day. Temps eventually reached 37 at weigh in with wind chill at 32..

Water temps were in the 48 to 50-degree range depending on where you fished, with mostly normal water color.

Launch was on a falling tide with a low around 11:30. A major cold front with high winds Friday evening had blown out the tide which resulted in an extremely low tide for the TX day with a lot of normal cover out of the water.

Fishing was tough for most. Throw in the low temps which resulted in gear freezing up and it was a challenging morning until the sun rose high enough to help ward off ice buildup on the guides and reels.

9 teams brought 5 fish limits to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in with 4 bags over 10 pounds.

A couple big girls were caught with 2 bass over 5 pounds weighed in.

6 cash places were paid, along with 10 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Fishing Tackle, Zee Bait Company, Nauti Goose Restaurant, Cal Coast Clip n Cull,  Hi Seas Line, River Bottom Reels,  Cabela's of Christiana Mall,  Sunoco,  Dobyns Rods and GRT jigs.

Total payout was $ 2900
Cash payout's were  $ 2,300 along with $ 600 in Sponsor prizes.
