Title: WTB- Cranking rod
Post by: shillins24 on March 31, 2008, 02:17:04 PM
Not looking for any big name, just something to throw small/shallow cranks with.... 6'6" or longer, medium light to medium action.... What do you have???

Did you sell the Kistler Graphite Plus KCBCM7- $ 80.00 you had for sale in Sept.?  That would have been PERFECT.   That rod is rated for 1/4 - 3/4 oz. baits.  If you still have it, I can work a trade with some cash (mine) for it.

Bruce, I'm using that rod now for traps and deeper crankbaits-- The rod specs for that rod should read more like 1/2-3/4oz- as it doesnt throw lighter cranks very well.....

I just bought one, haven't used it yet, but the 7'-0" seems to have a bit more tip than the 6'-6" rod in the same composite casting model.  If you want to get rid of it, let me know.  I'll buy or might have a rod to trade, don't know if you looked at the rod Eli bought from me last meeting. . .  I have one left and I really like it but might consider a trade (+ cash) for your Kistler.  I use it for traps mostly.  It's a Diawa Procaster in 6'-6" med. with a moderate action.  IM6 graphite, 10 guides, very nice rod.  Forget the lure weight rating but it does 3/8 - 1/2 oz traps perfectly.  I've also thown 3/8 oz spinnerbaits and shallow cranks with it.  The moderate action is nice on treble baits.
