Rain alone will not cancel it.  High wind or lightning will.  Continuing to watch the weather and will post tomorrow evening if we are going to cancel.

Well, my travel plans will be delayed one day.  I am not driving south on Saturday, through the heart of this storm.  Predictions are now for 60 MPH winds and up to 4" of rain along the route 95 corridor Saturday.  North Carolina has issued a travel advisory to avoid the coastal areas if possible - which is where I WAS headed.  Similiar warnings are up for the Delmarva Peninsula.  Now, I'll be traveling Sunday.  Saturday mid-morning through the afternoon won't be pleasurable, and quite possibly dangerous, on the Octorara according to the National Weather Service.

Please do not cancel the tourney.

I have already "Reel Magicked" my reels, restrung reels that needed new string, gathered my tackle, and cleaned my cooler.  This thing better be a go.

According to KYW 1060, it will rain tonight, temporarly clear by morning and then the winds and rain will rage in the afternoon.  So, assuming this is true, we can still get some fishing in and perhaps "get outta' dodge" by the afternoon.

I've fished in some pretty crappy weather, snow, freezeing temps, downpours etc.... But once the winds get over a steady 20mph, its just horrible.... Casting accuracy and boat control are almost non-existant- I wish you all good luck, as I'm 100% sure I'll be sleeping in tomorrow.

From NOAA

Tonight: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 69. Southeast wind between 7 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday: Periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 77. Windy, with a east wind 15 to 18 mph increasing to between 26 and 29 mph. Winds could gust as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between three and four inches possible.

I doubt we will cancel.

Winds will be lighter (everything is relative) in the morning increasing during the day to peak after nightfall.  We'll be off the water long before the peak.  Most of our fishing day should be ok, if the winds pick up too much, you can just come in early if you like.  We fished at Blue Marsh in some pretty bad weather and that's a larger lake than this is.

Where is your sense of adventure, son!

We're not going to be on the bay... if we were, I would definitely be voting to cancel.

Remember - you guys are restricted to T/M, you can't rely on outboard power to get your butts off he water, if it turns nasty quickly.  And in the conditions called for tomorrow it can do just that.  It's not really that important to risk severe weather.  Lightning is also a good posibility.  So first, last and foremost - stay safe!

After the storm of all storms on MC a year or two ago, this pales in comparison.

"The orange would look real good with that carrot stick or yours............."

Boogie, I agree that the orange string would look nice on the Carrot stick but I don't think the fish would like it much.  Unless, that special "hemp blend" string has something special in it.  Does it?
