What lipless bait do you actually use and catch bass on.
For $ 3.99 I like the Luhr Jensen Sugar Shads, been using them for years, they run real nice and catch fish.......as many as my Lucky Craft lipless do, at a 1/3 of the price.
Getting hard to find though.

They were one of the first lipless lures to have the fin on the back, acts as a sort of rudder.
A lot of the high end lipless lures do the same with a fin now.
What do you use and catch bass on ?
I like lures with lips. But if I gotta' pick one, I pick the Rat L Trap. This is the lipless that I caught the most on. I just wish they came with decent hooks.
Xcaliber, Lucky Craft, Strike King Red Eye Shads and a few rattletraps. That's also pretty much my order of preference. I carry a mix - obviously - different actions, rattless, etc. I don't think just one can do it all.
I have been throwing Original Traps for years with success. Changing hooks is the only pain....
I have a bunch of traps that I use but if i need to pick just one i would say that the original trap gets my vote only because of color choices.
I have a friend and sponsor that uses trap baits more than anyone out there, I fished with him and no lie he had 12 rods on his deck with different traps tied on each of them.
he told me he has over 500 in his collection. He did an article for the aba about fishing traps, in it he says that they all serv a purpose and have a place in your tackle bag

LOL @ 12 rods with traps on the deck.........diversity can be a good thing....
all my best lipless crankbait fish this year were caught on a big 1oz spro aruku shad.
threw em with a 7'6 mh rod with 15lb copoly line... a pretty muscle-y set up, but casts a mile and does a great job ripping through the weeds.
second best producer was the strike king red eye shad. sometimes thrown on the same gear, sometimes with lighter line and a shorter mh rod.
i switched over from using a med power rod to the mh rods sometime last year. was weary of the switch thinking that i might lose fish with less give in the rod, but i've landed every trap fish thats bit since.
i can't even remember if i used any of the original rat-l-traps this year. i do have about a dozen sitting in box next to my desk waiting for new hooks. they'll get wet this spring.
 12 trap rods?!
sounds like a fun day of fishin to me. i love throwin traps!
Speed clips are a lot easier............................
original. basically to stubborn to try anything else. the originals catch me fish so why change.
Love Excaliburs.
Also a big fan of the Strike Kings.
Cotton Cordells' traps arent bad either, abotu as good as regular traps...
I just bought a couple of these - Yo-Zuri Hardcore Drum. Haven't tried them yet, but they caught my eye.

I have a couple of the small yo-zuri baits. Beautiful but they almost never catch anything.
Dave,
I caught many fish with Yo Zuri lures. For a few seasons, the Yo Zuri Aile Goby was the bomb for catching trout.
my #1 choice isnt in the poll. i use BPS Tri Vibe Traps

you can adjust them to run shallow, deep, or in the middle. or most vibration, least vibration.
2,8,13, and 15 are my favorite colors.
i also used one of dan's strike kings at the potomac this year and liked it. i may have to add some of them to the box
