Title: make sure your connections are tight
Post by: bfitch on May 23, 2009, 05:25:59 PM
went out to marsh creek yesterday around 2. got about 3/4 of the way across the lake and the trolling motor quit. WTF. i check the batteries and find this.

had a loose connection on the + side of the battery and it heated up and melted the stud right off of the battery! had to rig it up to the cranking battery to get back in.

same thing happened in my truck about 4 years ago.
part of the post melted off the battery, but there was still enough to attach a lead to.
its still in the truck and still working.  lol.
