Title: Genmar Corp. ( Ranger/Champion/Stratos ) files Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Post by: Basscat7 on June 01, 2009, 11:16:17 PM
Not a good thing for the boat manufacturers.  Genmar owner Irwin Jacobs files chapter 11 today.
Genmar owns Ranger, Champion and Stratos bass boats, along with almost a dozen other pleasure boat companies.

Carver, FinCraft, Four Winns, Glastron, Hydra-Sports, Larson, Marquis, Seaswirl, Triumph, Wellcraft, and Windsor Craft

Well that's not good.  UNLESS I can get $10K off a new Ranger, like I can with Dodge/Chrylser products.
Manufacturers of "big ticket" items will contiue to have economic problems.  This is has not bottomed out, like some would like us to believe.  But I'm not buying anything right now except Krugerrands.
