Anyone here ever done any surf or pier fishing on the Grand Strand?
I poked around the web a bit and it looks like the Myrtle Beach area isn't very good for surf fishing, but though I would ask around here and see if anyone knows different...
Myrtle Beach is for GOLF. Golf is for those that have wives that WON'T LET THEM FISH.
Guess that's why you're headed to Myrtle Beach.
Check Murrells Inlet 15 miles or so S/o Myrtle Beach, I don't know about the surf fishing but they run charters from there and there is a State Park down there you may be able to fish from shore in the park. North Myrtle Beach also has fishing opportunities including a pier (I think), surf and charter boats.
HAH. Yes it is for golf, and I also golf, but not nearly as much as I fish.
We are having a family vaction down there and I know I wil get itchy with all that water around...so I figured I would ask.
We did a deep sea fishing non-private trip a few years back, but it sucked. 40 people dropping strips of squid to a bunch of small sea bass, with two people getting seasick everywhere. I am not paying 80 bucks or whatever it was for that stupidity again.
Ill check out Murrays though, I did read about it. They will let you rent a little in-shore boat for decent prices, maybe that would be fun.
