Title: TRANNY TWO -
Post by: bassboogieman on July 03, 2009, 05:55:22 AM
It's happened.  And as I always call it honestly  :rolleyes:, I have to say I am a bit dissapointed in my truck.  I've had Dodge vehicles for over 25 years, no problems other than regular maintenece.  That is no longer true.  My transmission is SHOT   :shocked: and at only 26,000 miles.  That just SHOULD NOT happern.  :angry: Only good news is it's under warranty, and that it happened before I head to Canada in a couple weeks.  So Justin - if your reading this - I can offer you a PACKAGE DEAL.  :wink:   OH, I forgot the MINOR problem that was also discovered (tranmission has my mind occupied), the power steering has a leak, the cooling tube has a pin hole in it, didn't notice that either as it only leaks when the engine is on and it's always in the yard, so no puddle was seen.  I shoulda bought a new one last month when I was thinking about it.  :undecided:

dodge= shit trannys
ford= shit engine
chevy= shit suspension

trannys in dodges just happen, unless you get a 5 or 6 speed

Well the word I now have is that late '04 & early '05 tranny's that were mated to the HEMI's, were built with a bad batch of clutches (maybe they were just too week for the HEMI's massive power :grin:) .  That is apparently my problem.  The clutches were slipping, and first gear was gone, and the others were not far behind.  I'm lucky I guess, my brother-in-law is a Chrylser Master Tech and will be sure my transmission is better than when it was new  :undecided: when I get it back.

All the $$$$ you've sunk into that junkco and now you want to unload it?  Here's a tip - PART IT OUT, you'll make twice as much as selling it in one piece...... It's still in one piece, isn't it?  :rolleyes: :grin: :grin: :grin:
I hear Chigger's in the market for used PROFESSIONAL GRADE equipment, and Pillager probably has a dollar burning a hole in his pocket.
Yo Chigger, while I'm thinking of you - I have a really nice Kistler LTA - used to be a one peice, now converted to two-piece rod that I can let you have cheap :cry:.

Stupidity.  Too many rods on the deck + an open rod locker (trying to get some OFF the deck) + a slight distraction + wind = tears and a string of explitives.

Boogieman,

Sorry to hear about your loss.  I am always sad to hear about a broken Kistler.

You know, an ugly stick would have held up better.   :evil:

You're mean pal, just plain mean.  I'm in mourning over the loss of a cherished material object who's demise is all my fault - and you make jokes.  Tacky.  An UGLY STICK, yikes dude, such blasphemy.  You could have at least said LOOMIS, I could have gotten a replacement for $50 even it was my own stupid fault.   :rolleyes:

So Doc has single handedly driven up the cost of a replacement to $50, huh?

I don't know.  :undecided: I pulled the $50 out of the hat.   :shocked:  I have little knowledge of the Loomis guarantee as I haven't had to use it, but your observation could have a basis in truth  :rolleyes: if it really is $50.  I probably should have VERIFIED the replacement cost with a reliable source with FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE, like Doc, but I didn't.   :sad:  So flog me if you will for being less than accurate in my comment, I took a little LIBERAL license.  :evil:
