Anyone have it? My daughter just had it installed, what a horror story. It's amazing DTV can stay in business. Very deceptive business practices.

I've got the whole FIOS package, and I'm happier with the service than with any cable service I had before, including Comcast.
You are officially the first person I have heard say that, no kidding!
Im glad it worked out for you...everyone else has either dealt with the BS or switched back to Comcast.
I am personally hating them for optical to my condo and tearign up the ground outside my place and then not fixing it like they were supposed to.
whatever crew put in the lines to our place did a great job. They used some water boring machine and just pushed plastic tube through the ground. Cable service was horrible to our condos, 30 years old, and they wouldn't replace the infrastructure. So when the FIOS was available, I hooked up. GREAT signal, and many fewer interruptions than I had with cable. That may be due to the age of the equipment, but whatever, it was a fact of life at our place.
I had FIOS installed 3 weeks ago for phone and internet, didn't take the TV. We got a good deal from Comcast to stay hooked up for another 6 months. After that, we'll suggest again to Comcast we're thinking about switching and see what they offer. The FIOS cable installers cut my Comcast Cable during the install, can't say it was intentoinal, but they were pretty darn careless about the install. Comcast was out the next day after I told them our cable was cut by the traveling hombres FIOS team and they ran me a complete new service - I think they were trying to whack the FIOS line - but they did miss it.
My daughter's DTV installation went much worse, the installer did not come prepared - lacking tools, lacking knowledge, and a complete idiot who should not have been let in the door. And a complaint to DTV - yeah, sorry, too bad, but that's what you're stuck with - you signed a contract, remember? Supervisor's visit the following day, did little to instill any confidence in DTV as a respectable Company. I would not use them or recommend them to anyone - not even Noodles.

I call Comcast every 6 months and get them to re-up me for current promotions (all three servcies) since FIOS calls me every 6 months tempting me...at least they provide me a good bartering chip.
Boogs- we had DTV for a little. still have it now in fact, but we only used it when we were on the road. (my dad used to be at fairs across the country working the sound for the concerts that came in) we use it now for our hunting camp. no cable up there, so it works just fine. never had to deal with the guys to set it up, just stuck it on a tripod and aimed it where the TV told me to.
Dave- do you get Comcast Sportsnet on FIOS? thats the one thing that would stop me. id go nuts if i didnt have that channel. between 75% of all the phils, flyers, and sixers games, and DNL, that channel has become irreplaceable.
anyway, i heard FIOS's internet is better because you have a dedicated line for your house. with comcast, its shared amongst your neighborhood, cutting down your actual bandwith (so ive heard)
We do have Comcast Sportsnet, but not CN8. That costs us a few games a year between the Phils or Flyers, but not that big a deal.
You can see the complete channel lineup for any service if you search their web sites long enough.

This is true, but with all my neighbors switching to fios, I am in great shape. I have the full comcast package, tv, phone, internet and have had no problems at all. Even good service...

I am not sure it's as bad as DSL though. DSL REALLY suffers when you have alot of people on the same chain as all the traffic passes through each node on the phone lines before getting onto a larger pipe.
have fios and love it. no probs here. internet kicks azz and add the Mac book, priceless.
Fios is awesome!!!!!!! I have had my modem go out and a dvr go down hey had repalcements at mydoor the next day at no charge... I will never go back to comcast
