This is a nice boat! And... it does a GPS-Certified 71 MPH top speed!!!
I am the second owner and I knew the first. Some of you know the boat as I've used it in a lot of club and state tourneys before I bought my 98 519VS in 2007. You may also know that I take care of my stuff. The motor has relatively few hours. It was stolen while I was having a custom cover made for it up at Maiden Creek Marine in the winter of 1999-2000. The insurance paid for a brand new motor, prop, steering, fuel, oil and electronic cables as they were severed during the theft. From the time it was installed until 2005 when I got back into Bass fishing, the boat was used less than 15 - 20 times. So, it's really only been used like most of us use our boats for two or three years until I bought my other Ranger in '08. It sat again until I just got off my butt and decided to sell it! Other than surface cracks in the gel-coat like most boats have at this age (my '98 has some), the fiberglass is in nice shape. The carpet is good except for a few places around the hatch lids where it could use some carpet cement and around the bunkers on the trailer. It has a new cranking battery but you might want to invest in a new set of trolling motor batteries. You will also need to mount a spare onto the rim as the old spare "blew up" one day!!! But, the trailer tires are in good shape having been replaced a few years ago. All the controls work as they're supposed to as are the bilge and livewell pumps.
This will make someone a fine tournament boat. If you're not familiar with the Ranger 361V, the 300-series hulls are known for being one of the finest Ranger ever produced. It gets into some VERY SKINNY water and is easily maneuvered around docks -- much better than my 519. It's very stable in the water both on plane and while fishing. The 361V was used for the Bassmaster Classic and other major events for many years.
