Title: champlain
Post by: fishinjim on August 10, 2009, 10:14:03 PM
was up there last week pre-drinking (oops, i mean fishing) for the open in a couple weeks.
tough to find the big girls, but the dinks were no problem.
caught a couple hundred 10" smallies and about a dozen fish in the 3lb range.
most of the time was spent hosting hungover friends in the back of the boat.
a few pics...

best part of the trip was fishing a shallow flat surrounded by 4ft gar in every direction.  had one swipe at a popper and was glad he missed it.
despite what you've heard, champlain is a pretty decent lake.
