Thanks for looking
any chance you want to sell an 6'3" Med LTA? hell il even trade ya my brand new "two" piece.
Don't own any Kistler's that short Brian. Actually I only have one Kistler LTA left at 6'-6", everything else is 6'-9" or longer. If you looking for a "dock skipping" rod - I use the 6'-6" MH LTA spinning rod, it does a really good job. I do have a Pflueger IM8 spinning rod I used for skipping baits, before investing in Kistler. It's a 6'0" Heavy. $40 if you'd be interested in that.
this was my rattle trap rod. so light and easy to handle, i loved it until i decided to make it a 2 piece
Actually this year I broke my first rod - locker lid closed on it. OUCH. Then a couple weeks ago I broke a second one - smallie broke it up at Blue Marsh. Lifted the fish onto the deck, went to lay down the rod to unhook it - fish started flopping around and I grabbed the rod about 2' from the tip and darm if that fish didn't snap 5" off the end. I still let him go. :undecided: You were just a little slow - Pillager bought the perfect trap rod yesterday. HEY, I bet I could make you a 6'3" approx. MH out of the broken rod. It's a Graphite Plus if you want to try it. Don't have to buy if you doesn't work or you don't like it.
Brian - I would say a 6' 6" is better anyways. In fact, a 7'0" might even be ideal. You get more sweep if you are pumping/yo-yo'ing the trap, plus xtra rod to take up slack if you get hit after ripping free of a grss clump or something
I use 6/6" medium for trapping, and am thinking I might go 7' in the future with a little heavier action for heavy grass ripping...medium just is too much work for lots of grass applications...
If you want a rod for traps - I have a Diawa Pro Caster a 6'-6" med/mod casting rod. I used that for traps and spinnerbaits - I like the moderate action when dealing with treble hooks. Eli bought one off me a while ago, you could check in with him on how he likes it. My nephew has borrowed it for now, but I can get it back if you're interested, you won't spend a lot of money for that. The other option is still offered - the Graphite Plus I broke was 7'-0" med/mod that is now just about 6'-7". I put a new tip on it and moved the (now) second line guide back mid-way between the tip and 3rd eye. It's just a tad stiffer on the tip than the 6'-6" rod Dave C. just bought. This rod is a composite blank, works really good with treble hooks. I heven't tried it yet, but you can try that one before you decide. I don't know why I'm trying so hard to help you out.
