Yo Ryan, Crankbait King. Still looking at rods? I upgraded mine, thanks to Pillager - THANKS again Dave. Came today. I got a set (3 rods) of the new Kistler Argon Crankbait Rods. Although they have the split grip, they are dang nice sticks - think I'll be gettin' used to those split grips, seems it's about all you can get now. Rods are 6'9" and 7'2" Medium and a 7'9" MH for those deep cranks. Gonna try them out Saturday. I did like those Graphite Plus composite blank crankbait specials, but they don't compare to the feel of the Argon's, which are very similiar to the LTA's.

Gee Dan I would......... if only I hadn't spent the extra on a Kislter Magnesium Alton Jones composite crankbait rod, Kistler Helium LTA Spinning rod and a couple reels to go on them. :evil: I sold some stuff - made the purchase a LOT easier. :grin:

I actually got out twice a few days ago in my kayak, Boy was it great to be out even though I caught nada. Still am in pain but it is beginning to lessen and the knee still is stiff but the process is slow and I am working it. Healing takes time for us old "codgers". :34:
Ryan, welcome home. I do like the Argons. They are all Graphite, and while I thought the Graphite Composite rods were nice - and they were - no comparison to the Argons. Easier to cast, lighter and more sensitive. Very much like the LTA's. I wasn't sure about the all graphite and fast actions, but the Crankbait rods are a bit softer and feel really good. I'm liking the firm backbone of the rod combined with the soft tip. I'm also ordering a couple more of the Argons, for worms and senko's, they are so close to the LTA's in feel, and I can get them at a much better price than the LTA's. The deep crankbait rod is 7'9" MH and very light comparable to other rods I've been able to handle for those baits. And I'm getting used to the split grip - have to I guess, most of the major rod makers are going to it. The other rods in the series are both medium in 6'9" and 7'2". The longer rod really launches the smaller medium cranks, and the 6'9" does the same with traps and the shallow divers. The LTA's have been changed for '09 to X-fast actions for most of the rods designed for plastics, and the Argon fast action closely matches the pre-'09 LTA's. Main reason I'm adding a couple more of the Argons, they are closer match to the LTA's I already have, than the new LTA.

Wimp! Earl's going back to work in two weeks - it will be only 5 weeks after his knee replacement replacement. He is doing extremely well. Less than 4 weeks since his, and his leg is perfectly flat and over 100 degrees of bend. I don't believe it myself. He had his staples out just last week, and he's walking around much better than he has in almost a year.

Glad to hear he is doing well this time. I hit 114 degrees of flexion today and have full extension. But, I still have the stiffness and pain but less each week or two.
Maybe they tightened the bolt a little too much...

Doc does not have any bolts, you should know that. If he has bolts then he has to have nuts :rolleyes: and we all know he lost those .............. wait a second.............. upon some contemplation.................... we all know Doc is NUTS so I guess he does have bolts. Sounds logical to me. :rolleyes:
