Its a shame because the other players are pretty decent. But without a leader my friends you are nothing.

i think we'll go heavy run next week. (meaning for andy, a balanced game :rolleyes: ) the line was running over the panthers, and they have a much better dline then NO. i the D can keep the pressure on brees, then we have a chance.

Heavy run will result in a westbrook injury. Him and mccoy are to small to lead with a run. They must pass. Kolb is just as bad a mcnaab. I m telling ya, you will see vick taking snaps shortly. He opens up the field. He is the perfect QB for that idiot reids offense. Please by no means, do not base the season off this win. They were very lucky and carolina may be that bad.

so now we've got an inexperienced rookie starting for an injury prone pro bowler, while our recently signed criminal QB sits out his suspension and we just signed a QB that ran out of gas 2 years go.

I doubt McNabb plays with a broken rib, still a chance though if they shoot him up with pain killers at game time......It's all in how much pain He can handle...not during the game, but after when the pain killers wear off.
He can't do any more damage to the injury at this point.
Vick won't be game ready for 2 more weeks at least. bythat time Mcnabb should be healed.

If they can hold Brees to 21 points they can win with Kolb, against KC they could win with D. Jackson at QB runing out of the wildcat....

The point right now is: they don't have a viable alternative. Sunday may finally put any doubts to rest. Hopefully we'll all be surprised, but we haven't seen anything to lead us to that conclusion yet.

wrong, he gets paid. but it might not count against the cap. waive him and be done with him. the risk that he goes elsewhere and is great for 10 years is certainly not worth the risk of keeping him with his history. I say just move on.

All depends on what Kolb does against New Orleans, if Kolb looks servicable then I think He'll go against KC in game 3, it's His job to lose. Vick needs time to learn the system.
Garcia is strictly a backup. Kolb was the only QB on the roster other than McNabb, they could not go into the practice week with only 1 QB ( assuming McNabb is out this week ) so that's where Garcia came in.
They really wanted Feeley back, but they could only offer him the backup role for as long as Mcnabb is out. Carolina offered Feeley the backup role to Delhomme for they year so He took the full time offer. ( backup QB McCown went on the IR after the Eagles game )

they got out coached on D. we tried to blitz up the middle, and the saints were ready for it, rolled brees out and he was able to buy time and pick us apart. if you look at it though, i think the saints only had one drive over 50 yards. so take away that fluke fumble on the kickoff, and kolb doesnt throw that pick, its a whole different ball game.
problem is, you can't just "take away" plays.
Kolb did not look terrible except on a few plays. Chalk it up to inexperience. McNabb has games exactly the same where he throws for tons of yards but a few stupid picks and it costs us the game.
The defense didn't play it's usual "bend but don't break" game. They broke a few times.
For the life of me I can't figure out why the national media was picking the Eagles in this game. If McNabb were playing, I could have understood it more.
An offense like New Orleans exposes the losses on defense factor also. You can't lose your defensive leader, middle linebacker and coordinator without any reduction in effectiveness. You won't see that every game, but it will show up with the really good offensive teams.
i know you cant "take away" plays, all im saying is we didnt get beat as bad as the score shows. if we play them again, especially with mcnabb, i like our chances.
Brian thats like saying mcnaabs stats look better than they really are. 2 yard passes for 30 yard runs....etc. Eagles win most of there games by having a lot of lucky plays, recovering fumbles in the red zone and so forth. I think the bottom line is that people are starting to realize that they are not that good. I am predicting a lot of BOOOOOOOOOOS...........This year. I think we have a new starting QB also. Sorry bro.

but I have to disagree with you somewhat. if a team continually causes turnovers, it's more than luck. it can't be great defense for the cowgirls and luck for the eagles.
but I agree, the eagles aren't that good this year, for some reasons out of their control. there is not enough depth on the O line, D backs and linebackers. But hey, they have 3 pro bowl quarterbacks, none of which are playing.
Sorry Pillagar, I used to bleed green to. I just cant stand Mcnaab and Andy. There stats are the best in franchise history but, they just cant win the big game and the fans except it. I think that makes me even more mad that the fans stick by them. I mean look, I am not a pro football anything but, who is telling Mcnaab to lift weights till he looks like the hulk. How can you throw a football with arms like the hulk, I think he is to stocky to be a QB, his mobility is gone. He needs to lose weight and quit lifting weights.

I disagree somewhat. I like the 2 young backs. I think you'll see more of them because I think BW is just about broke down. I hate to have to say it but the reality is staring us all in the face. I hope I'm wrong. Too soon to tell about the new receiver also. Jackson started slow last year with only a few flashes. We'll see. And as for the wildcat, I'm sure you haven't seen the tricks they have up their sleeves for it yet. And you can bet they have some.
Jaws said something on MNF that contradicted himself. He said the wildcat was a fad and it didn't work. He said the wildcat was 8% of the plays and it accounted for "only" 10% of the yards. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that tells me it is effective, if used in the right situations.
