Twas the Night before North East, and all through my basement, I replaced some treble hooks that were previously bent.
The rods were wrapped with stick jackets too, with some of my crankbaits poking through.
I eventually finished packing and laid down in bed, with visions of a lunker dancing in my head.
And so I turned out the light, and took off my hat, and settled down for what is the equivalent of a short nap.
When the alarm rang, there was a clatter, so I immediately woke up since sleep did not matter.
Away to the downstairs, I ran like a flash. Poured some coffee and grabbed my entry fee cash.
I pulled out the driveway, with Bubbles in tow, checking the clock so I wouldn't be slow.
After meeting up with Dave and Eli to pick up lunch, we left Wawa with sandwiches and punch.
Eli was the lead driver and sometimes moves quick. Dave was in the middle trying to drive stick.
We arrived at the ramp and then Dan came, making sure each Member was present and calling their name:
Now Stan! Now George! Now Noodles! and Jimmy Jeff too . . .
On Eli, On Dave, On Mark, On Tony, and don't forget Lou.
To the Nauti Goose porch and then near the rock wall, Now launch away, launch away, launch away all.
As boats get on plane and begin to fly, they all take off towards marked points that you cannot buy.
So the rods start casting and many baits flew with boats full of toys and of course, crankbaits too.
And after a quick morning, they all returned. Each and every member with their faces slightly burned.
As I bagged my fish, I thought in my head, I might have a chance if the other CCBM members caught dinks instead.
Bundles of fish, all limits over their back. Each member was quiet as they weighed their sack.
I fired up a stogie, held tight in my lip, and I watched some fish bounce around and do a flip.
After the winners were told of their place, Stan offered some insight on the AOY race.
As I cleaned each rod, I knew it was time to fill my belly, so I grabbed the 2nd to last peanut butter and jelly.
I got in my truck and was glad I had fun. Time to start thinking about the next one.
While each and every member began to drive out of sight, I exclaimed "Great Fishing to all and to all a Good Night"!!
the lawyering buisness must be slow

The tide still moves up and down regardless of the ice. That is why you see a lot of bubbler systems around expensive docks on the Northeast and Upper Bay.
In a really cold winter the entire Upper Bay will freeze from the Susquehanna North.
If dock pilings are not secured deep enough into the River or Bay bottom, the ice will grip tight onto the piling and as the ice floats up with the tide pull the piling up out of the mud/sand bottom and move the piling, especially during a full moon tide.
Every spring a lot of dock owners have to have pilings pounded back in straight , not a cheap job.
Bubbler systems are an air compressor running into hoses in the water to keep the water around the pilings from freezing.
You can see in the first pic, the Northeast Park Dock, they did not have a bubbler system and when the River froze last year, the pilings on the main dock where pushed over about 30 degrees.
They were fixed this spring and pounded deeper into the bottom.

Keep your day job, but since it's Christmas and he put forth a good effort, I say we give him back his man card.
Don't worry, he'll have it revoked by New Years Day!
