"As many of you know by now, we tragically lost Cindy Smelgus, our MBN Tournament Director, yesterday to a heart attack. Cindy was a tireless volunteer on our behalf - organizing and preparing for the tournaments, last minute matching boaters with riders, driving to either end of the state, getting up earlier than us on tournament days, dealing with cranky fisherman before their morning coffee, recording the results, soothing ruffled feathers of those with complaints, and calling us, "Hon", all the time. She did this for the love of us rather than for the sport. All our prayers and thoughts are with her daughters and family at this difficult time. "
This is sad news. I met her and spoke with her on the phone a couple of times and she was a bright and cheerful person. She did a lot for our organization.
