If anyone lives near a Gander Mountain....
They are having really nice clearance sales on apparel (and firearms if you're in the market). I picked up a pair of their guide series zip-off-leg pants for 10 bucks (normally 30). They had alot of jackets, pants, shirts on sale too...

Gander Mountain also owns Cabelas and is now buying Overtons Marine Supply.

I thought Cabela's purchased Gander Mtn a few years back when Gander was going into bankruptcy. There are two different companies from what I read: Gander Mountain, Inc and Gander Mountain Co.
I don't know where that rhumor is coming from but it is false according to the statistics.
Cabelas is a public company that trades under the ticker symbol CAB on the New York Stock Exchange.
The percentage of ownership by institutional investors is 54%, which basically means if they all align, any individual shareholder has no say in anything, including the insiders.
Gander Mountain is not listed as a holder unless one of the institutional holder companies also owns Gander Mountain.
HBK INVESTMENTS, L.P. is the big holder with the most clout besides the insiders who hold over 40% of the company.

My pocket is kind of empty but it would have negative interest rates there at an unknown rate, probably as fast as I can burn through it... :grin:
I don't know nearly enough to be an adviser, but I do work in the financial services industry. So even though I'm a database administrator and designer, over the past 29 years I've learned a lot about securities.
And yeah, I know, that's longer than some of you guys have been living.
Gander Mountain does not own Cabelas.
A few years ago, Gander Mountain was heading to bankruptcy court after trying to establish a catalog sales to go along with the brick and mortar stores.
Cabelas stepped in and bought the catalog sales portion of Gander Mountain before the bankruptcy proceeded, they also bought certain
" copyrights " from Gander Mountain.There was also a " no compete " claus for Gander Mountain on the catalog business .
The no compete claus has expired and Gander Mountain is wanting back into the catalog business ( with Overtons ) they have sued Cabelas over the copyright issue and I believe they won the first round of court.
Cabelas is not going to let Gander Mountain/Overtons back in the catalog business without tieng it up in court for a while.
