I use kind of a double palomar with an extra knot when I'm tying braid.

For other lines Palomar or a knot I have no idea of the name, but it has never failed me in 35 years of fishing.

It's Duct Tape when your in HVAC, but it's Duck tape when your making a joke. ;D
