Phils win 9-7......bottom of the ninth, Phils up by 2,  Mets batting, nobody out, runners at first and second and the Amazin Mets decide to try a double steal...........resulting in the rarest play in baseball, a game ending unassisted triple play.

Line drive to Bruntlett at second, steps on the bag for 2nd out and tags runner coming into 2nd for out # 3.

Someone should tell the Mets that stealing in that situation is not a high percentage move

I think they were going for the hit and run instead of the double steal, but either way it was a cool play.  We were watching.  Thought Lidge was going to melt down again, but to be fair a couple of errors played in there.

It pays to be an optimist.  Even if you are wrong, you are happy about it.

Nahh, double steal., it's the Mets.......either way it is not a smart baseball move cause any type of line drive is an almost automatic double play.
