Are there any boat dealers that will sell your boat for you?

Just curious, are there any dealers that will take care of selling your boat or take a trade in without killing you with lost value?

Many dealerships will sell on consignment - BUT.  They take a fee and they're selling your USED boat.  Your boat is not hardly broken in yet and you will take a huge hit by going the consignment route and this is a bad time of year to sell a boat.  Best is to sell it private.

Don't be in a hurry, it took me 7 months to sell my previous boat (which is the one you SHOULD have bought, or Shillins boat would have even been better - less $$$$) - and I got my price.  Otherwise you will have to sell at a greater loss.  Take your time and you can find a really good 18'-6" w/150HP a couple years old for a decent price, because new - they are outrageous! 

Advertise it in some papers close to Harrisburg or Easton and the rivers - better market for the jet, than localy here.  I also advertised on the PA Federation message boards (don't tell Dave C, he'll be busting me about that "benifit" also) which is where I connected with my buyer who was from the Pittsburgh area.
It's a pain selling, no one will want to pay what your lightly used boat is worth and the lowball offers form people who really don't know the value of a boat are so insulting.  Ask questions, take some rides - you've got a lot of guys in CCBM that have owed several boats, so pick their brains.  Lastly, good luck.

P.S. - one really good opportunity for a new boat is the spring Sportsman shows.  Show specials on leftover models can save you some money, if you want new.  Selection isn't as great, but the savings could be seveal thousand bucks.  My first bass boat was bought that way.  I had to go to Virginia to get it, but it was worth it for the savings.  A new boat (especailly a new outboard) gets you a few years of warranty coverage, you may not get buying used.  A consideration you may wish to keep in mind.
