I agree with you on the micro guides.  The cons outweigh the pros.

As for the weight system, it is good for tip up applications. 

The Z-bonez seem cool but will likely be pricey.

That little butt cap gives you a better grip on the back end of the rod and makes it even harder for you to throw it overboard.
