Chester County Bass Masters held the 3rd of five opens for the season on September 12th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

The title sponsor for the tournament was Sunoco.

29 Teams showed up on the Bay to try and figure out the bass who have been in their typical late summer doldrums. Changing weather conditions thruout the day had most teams scrambling to find cooperative fish.

The morning was nice with a few clouds, then a few light showers mid morning thru afternoon gave way to a steadier drizzle at the end of the day. Wind was light for the most part. Air temps at launch were around 65, and headed toward 80 by weigh in
.
Water temps were in the 75  - 80 degree range depending where you fished, with some off colored water in areas of the Northeast.

Launch was on a mid rising tide with high around 11:00 a.m. sending teams scrambling to find decent water.

Fishing was tough for the most part with just 6 limits brought to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in and only 2 bags over 15 pounds.

6 cash places were paid  along with 5 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle, Cabela's of Christiana Mall, River Bottom Reels, Sunoco, and GRT jigs.

Thanks to everyone who came out to fish, we and our sponsors appreciate the support.

The next Chester County open will be on Saturday, October 24th out of Anchor Marine.
