Chester County Bass Masters held their third of five opens for the season on June 4th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

38 Teams showed up on a late spring Saturday to search for some of the Upper Bays largemouth that were coming off the spawn and heading to their summer hangouts.

Air temps at launch were around 65 with a little humidity. The day stayed mostly overcast with some sun breaking thru late in the TX day sending temps into the mid 80's. Winds were negligible for the most part, 5 - 10.

Water temps were in the 70 - 75 degree range depending where you fished, with some off colored water in areas of the Northeast on the tide change.

Launch was around 5:30 on a rising tide with a high around 10:15 at Charlestown. Virtually all the teams headed down towards Flats looking for the big post spawners out in the grass.

You needed to be on your A game to finish in the top ten as 24 limits were brought to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in, including 10 bags over 19 pounds and 6 bags over 20 pounds.

A few big girls were found with seven bass over 5 pounds weighed in and 20+ over 4 pounds.

8 cash places were paid, along with 8 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle, River Bottom Reels, Cabela's of Christiana Mall, Sunoco, Nauti Goose restaurant, Hi Seas Line, Mudd Butt Baits and GRT jigs.
