33 Teams showed up on a chilly fall Saturday to search for some of the Upper Bay's largemouth that have been on the feed  the past few weeks with the cooler water temps.

Air temps at launch were around 41 but thankfully no wind. The tournament launched at 7:00 under bluebird skies which remained all day. Temps eventually reached around 60 at weigh in..
Water temps were in the 57 to 61-degree range depending on where you fished, with mostly normal water color.

Launch was about half into a rising tide with a high around 10:00.

Fishing was great for most. There were also many teams reporting good numbers of 8" - 12 " fish being caught and released, a good sign for future years.

19 teams brought 5 fish limits to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in with 16 bags over 10 pounds.

A few big girls were caught with three bass over 5 pounds and six over 4 pounds weighed in.

7 cash places were paid, along with 7 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle, Browning Eyewear, River Bottom Reels, Cabela's of Christiana Mall, Sunoco, Mudd Butt Baits and GRT jigs.

We will be running 5 Opens again in 2017 with point totals being kept for your best 4 of the 5 tournaments.  As in past years the top 3 teams for the season will receive prize packages to be determined.

2017 schedule will be posted to our Chester County Opens facebook page :
