Chester County Bass Masters July 13th Upper Bay Open #3 Reults

Chester County Bass Masters held their 3rd of five opens for the 2019 season on July 13th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

47 Teams showed up on a hot mid summer Saturday in search of a 5 fish limit of Upper Bay black bass.  The bass were in their summer patterns, which  usually means one thing, head to the grass. 

A couple storms rolled thru Thursday and Friday muddying up the water in the Northeast, but cleaner water could be found on the Flats and below..
Air temps at launch were around 68 with very little breeze. The tournament launched at 5:30 under bluebird skies with a forecast high of 90.

Water temps were in the 78 - 80 degree range depending on where you fished. Water color was muddy around the Northeast, with normal water farther south.
Launch was on a rising tide with high around 9:00 am.

25  five fish limits were brought in with 6 other teams having 4 fish.
27  double digit weights were brought to the scales.
  9   bass over 4 pounds were weighed in.
  5   bass over 5 pounds were weighed in.
   
10 cash places were paid, along with 16 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle,  Rhino Linings of Delaware, Dobyns Rods, Cal Coast Clip n Cull, Bass Cat,  River Bottom Reels, Zee Bait Company,  Steak & Main Restaurant , BUFF USA,  Hi Seas fishing line,  Nichols Lures, Batteries+ Store , Gruv Fishing  Boxes, Native Tungsten Weights, Venom Lures, Hayabusa Hooks and GRT Jigs.

21 boats participated in  $ 60 option pot which paid 3 spots.

$ 5,115 in cash was paid along with $ 1100 in sponsor prizes.

The next Chester County Open tournament of 2019 will be on Saturday, August 10th out of Anchor Marine.

First place cash payout and championship plaques went to Bart Hollis and Will Hollis . The pair found the right bites to bring in a big bag just shy of 22 pounds.
Their 5 fish limit of 21.99 Lbs took home the top spot and nice cash winnings of $1600.
Included in that impressive bag was a big fish of 4.80 Lbs.

Bart and Will also received Dobyns Rods 40 % off cards along with a pair of Dobyns Hats
Congrats to the team on a fantastic day.
Unfortunately they were not in the Option Pot which went to the 2nd place team.

Second place cash went to the team of Keith Cowan and Zach Cowan.  The team put together an outstanding 5 fish limit weighing in at 21.04 Lbs.
Included in that impressive bag was the CCBM 5th Lunker, a  5.06 fat girl that earned them a $ 50 card from Batteries + store in Springfield, Pa.
The Team also took home an additional $ 756 by entering the $ 60 Option Pot and taking first place cash there.
Keith and Zach  also received 40 % off cards for Dobyns Rods and a pair of heavy duty zippered Dobyns weigh bags.

Third place money was won by the team of Devynn Brown and Nate Brown who brought a 5 fish limit to the scales that topped out at 19.10 Lbs. Their big fish weighed in at 4.99 Lbs.
The pair also entered the  $ 60 Option Pot, taking home 2nd place cash of $ 378 from that voluntary pot.
The team also received cards for 40 % off Dobyns Rods

Fourth place dough was earned by the team of Lou Croce and Jimmy Pitcherello who weighed in a 5 fish limit for 17.43 Lbs another great limit of Upper Bay bass.

Included in that impressive bag was the CCBM Tournament Lunker, a  5.98 fat girl that was worth an additional $ 470 in lunker payout. Nice work.

Congrats on a top 5 finish.


Fifth place cash  went to the team of Carl Walker and John Strosser who weighed in a nice 5 fish limit of 17.37 Lbs with their big bass going 4.14 pounds. Great work on the day.



Sixth place coin was collected by the team of Mark Ely and Jerry Gerlach who brought 5 fish to the scales for 16.58 Lbs. with a big bass of 4.59 Lbs.


Seventh place money was snagged by the team of John Oldaker and Ryan Foote with a 5 fish limit weighing 16.09 Lbs. and a big fish of 4.47 Lbs.
The team also took home 3rd place cash in the  $ 60 Option Pot.


Eighth place money spot was secured by the team of Steve Jago and Gary Brown with a 5 bass limit for 16.03 pounds.
The team had the 3rd Lunker of 5.47 lbs. which won them a set of Cal Coast Clip n Culls 2.0, non puncturing cull tags.

Ninth place cash was collected by the team of Terry Roberson and Andrew Chianese who brought 5 fish to the scales for 15.77 Lbs. with a big fish of 4.51 lbs.


Tenth place and the last cash spot was collected by the team of Conor Cahill and Adam Satanoft  who brought 5 fish to the table for 15.36 Lbs. with a big fish of 3.25 Lbs.

11th thru 20th spots won gift cards from  Zee Bait Company, River Bottom Reels ,Steak & Main restaurant of North East, Gruv Fishing, BUFF USA, Venom Lures, Native Tungsten, Nichols Lures, GRT Jigs and Hi Seas Line.

First team to finish just out of the money was awarded a $ 75.00 gift card from Zee Bait Company a local plastic manufacturer from Chester Springs, Pa.

11th position and the Zee Bait card went to Luke Shrader and Cliff Humphreys  who brought 5 bass to the scale weighing 15.12 Lbs.




12th place and a $ 50.00 River Bottom Reels card for reel maintenance from Kevin Geesey in Elizabethown, Pa. was collected by the team of Marcus Griffin and Ryan Street who brought 5 fish to the table for 14.71 Lbs. and a big fish of 3.84 Lbs.

13th place earned a $ 50 Steak & Main restaurant card.  Located on Main St. in North East, and rated one of the top Steak houses in the Mid Atlantic.
Pablo Velazquez and Mike Phillips  brought in a limit of bass for 14.48 Lbs, with a 3.96 big fish.

14th place received  $ 50 in Spinnerbaits and Lures from Nichols Lure company, made in the USA in Georgia.  Lawrence Pustizzi and Nick Pustizzi weighed 5 fish for 13.56 lbs with a nice 3.77 big bass.
