Chester County Bass Masters held their 4th of five Points Opens for the 2023 season on October 14th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.
46 Teams showed up on a cold, rainy Fall Saturday in search of a 5 fish limit of Upper Bay black bass.

Air temps at launch were around 45 with little wind. The tournament launched at 7:00 under a light rain with a forecast high of 55. The Front rolled thru mid morning dropping the temp a few degrees and bringing an increase of wind and heavier rain.
The weather didn't deter teams from finding quality bags though, the top 8 teams all weighed in over 17 pounds with 5 fish.
Water temps were in the 59 - 62 range depending on where you fished.

Launch was on a rising tide with high around 10:45 am.
Five flights went out with the first flight due back at 2:30 and each additional flight of 10 boats due back ten minutes apart.

26 five fish limits were brought in.
4 teams had 4 fish
9 bass over 4 pounds were weighed in.
3 bass over 5 pounds were weighed in.
1 bass over 6 pounds was weighed in

5 cash places were paid, along with 21 sponsor prizes from Henlopen Bait and Tackle, Susquehanna Tackle, Dobyns Rods, Zee Bait Company, Epic Eric's Bass Lab, Bass University, Steak & Main Restaurant, Eastern Marine of Newark, Nichols Lures, 13 Fishing, Cabelas - Pauls Plastering, Buff USA, Pro-Tec Boat Care Products, Harmony Fishing Tackle, Bass Pro Shops, Boomerang Tools, Hayabusa Hooks, Reins, Native Tungsten Weights, Bass Cat, Simms, Venom Lures, Trailer Parts Superstore of Newark, Buck Brook Alpacas, Vexan and In Depth Installs.


17 boats participated in $ 60 option pot which paid 2 spots.
The top 2 teams were all in the in the Option pot adding more cash to their winnings.

First place cash payout and championship plaques went to Ken Cassella and Bruce Riechert who won by almost 4 pounds over the second place team.

Not an easy task with the caliber of TX contestants in this Circuit !

Ken and Bruce found the right bites to bring in a 5 fish limit of 23.01 Lbs to take home the win and a nice payout.

The Team also took home additional $$$$$ by entering the $ 60 Option Pot and taking first place cash there.

Along with the cash, the team also received a nice package of products from Dobyns Rods !

Included in that fine bag was a hefty 6.42 pound bass that was the Tournament Cash Lunker worth

Second place cash went to Duke Nave and Andrew Heivly .

The team put together an outstanding 5 fish limit for this day weighing in at 19.37 Lbs.
Their big fish was 4.49 Lbs.

The pair also entered the Option Pot taking home the $$$$ for 2nd place from that voluntary pot.

Along with 2nd place cash, the team also received a nice package of products from Dobyns Rods !

Congrats to Duke and Andrew on a great performance !

Third place money was won by Nate Brown and JT Lang who brought a 5 fish limit to the scales that topped out at 19.33 Lbs. putting some nice cash in their pockets.

Along with the cash, the team also received a nice package of products from Dobyns Rods !

Their big fish was 4.32 Lbs.

Fourth place dough was earned by Brandon Jones, fishing solo He weighed in a 5 fish bag for 19.07 Lbs.
He also weighed in a 5.23 Upper Bay Hog to take home the Susquehanna Fishing Tackle 2nd Lunker for the tournament earning him a $ 100 SFT gift card.

Fifth place and last money spot went to the team of Tom Bavaro and Brian Dyson who weighed in 5 fish for 17.91 Lbs.

The pair is holding on to the top points spot heading into next weeks last CCBM Points Open and the Invite to the Bassmaster Team Championship TX that goes with it.

They also won the Eastern Marine 3rd Lunker with a 5.01 bass and took home a $ 75 gift card from Eastern Marine / Trailer Superstore of Newark, Delaware.

Sixth place and first team out of the money was secured by the team of Corey Ellis and Paul Brown who brought 5 fish to the scales for 17.53 Lbs. Congrats Corey and Paul, nice finish in a field of quality anglers.
The duo took home a Tackle Pack with 75 dollars worth of top lures picked out for tidal waters from Epic Eric's Bass Lab.

Seventh place was snagged by the team of Pete Faverio and Ron Galloway with 5 fish weighing 17.50 Lbs. and a big fish of 4.91 Lbs. Great weight for the Bay.

Eighth place went to the team of Conor Cahill and Richard Leadbeater who brought 5 fish to the scales for 17.35 Lbs. with a big fish of 4.16 Lbs.  Nice finish !
The top 10 finish has them in the hunt for the 2nd invite to the Bassmaster Team Champiosnship TX.
