My thoughts:

Vick did more time for allowing people to run a dog fighting operation on his property than some people do who are complicit in the death of a human being. That in itself isn't right, but the consensus is that he was leaned on hard because no one wanted to have another controversy surrounding going light on rich athletes, again, as usual. I think those days of leniency are waning somewhat, see Burris also. And I guess he didn't have any political connections, so that didn't help him out either.

Vick is an amazing athlete.

Vick is a suspect quarterback in the purest sense of the position.

McNabb is a suspect quarterback in the purest sense of the position.

Why the heck did the Eagles pick up a guy who won't be able to run that offense any better than McNabb? They had a guy, although older and also injury prone, and they let him go. This is the only problem I have with this move by the Eagles. If Vick had never done anything wrong or gone to jail, I would have the same issue with the Eagles picking him up.

I contend McNabb CAN be a 'suspect' QB. But he's int he top 8 in the league, and has been for the past few years. Ill take McNabb over an Eli or Garcia or JaMarcus or Orton any day all day.

WHy? My guess is they dont really plan for him to be a backup in the purest sense. Andy said last night in the post-game they may keep 4 "qbs" on the roster which means they may use Vick for Rb/WR/Kick Returns, whatever.

Plus, he CAN play pro level football (although god forbid we have to use him in the pocket if McNabb goes down, I would rather see Feeley). For less than 1 million a year, he's worth the risk if he keeps his nose clean. Worst that could happen? He doesnt amount to anything useful on the field other than occasional gimmick decoy and/or reverts to his thug ways adn embarasses te organization. I am all for this move. He could be explosive...

Vick was brought in as a " Slash " type of player. You'll see him lined up all over the field as a flanker/RB/Wildcat, and if McNabb has another injury prone season, as the backup.

Signed on a 2 year deal, so if He shows the skill level is still there and stays out of trouble and is a model citizen, the Iggles will trade him off next season for a first day pick to a team that needs a QB, not a bad move in that respect..

He is not eligible to play in ANY of the first 6 Regular Season games , that has yet to be decided by the commissioner.

Watch for the coming QB controversy the first time Vick lines up under center in a regular season game, McNabb's fragile ego/psyche will once again be tested.

Lori is a scum bag and has all you pigeon fans fooled. Im confused. He gets rid of the best receiver in football for some harmless little comments to that loser QB McNaab and signs a dog fighter. What? Thats funny right there. I think he is twice the QB as McNaab and was a good choice. But come on where is the trend of negative energy prohibited on the eagles rule.
