By far the best rod we make for this application is the AFCB72, period. If you will use braided line, you'll have even more success.

I have this rod  :evil: should you wish to touch it.  :rolleyes:  I'm not certain I agree with T. K. on this rod for ripping traps in grass.  It's medium/fast action, and for me I think it may be just a bit soft.  It is however, the dukie for medium diving cranks.  For ripping traps in grass I think the 6'9" MH worm rod may be better (AFW69C).  The medium, I think, just won't do in heavier grass - like the Potomac.  Open water traps the 6'9" Argon crankbait rod IS the ticket (AFCB69C), a medium/mod. fast.  I have all three - you should invite me fishing.

Bruce, I thought I had a tackle addiction but you seem to be seriously afflicted.

Anyway, I agree with you that the medium rod would not work out so well for ripping in grass.  That is why I am considering the heavy/moderate action Argon.  I will post the model number that I am looking at . . .

Heavy for traps in grass...hmmm...i wouldnt go higher than MH probably...but then again, ive never done a LOT of trapping in grass.

I agree with Dan (WTF did I just say?), the Heavy would be more than I would like.  Would be difficult casting 3/8 oz traps, possilby 1/2 oz also.  Those rods are pretty stiff and the lighter weight baits aren't  heavy enough to load the rod properly.  You really shoud handle some of the ones I have before you spend your money - even at the discount I can get you.  You really want a big rod for ripping traps - possibly their big crankbait rod the 7'9" MH crankbait rod (AFCB79CT) might suit you, but it's a pretty meaty stick, with a mod. fast action, which I think is a little better with treble hook baits.  :rolleyes: I also happen to have one of those in the locker.

I know the stick is a heavy power rod but it is rated for lures 1/4 to 1 1/2 ounces.  I am not saying that you are wrong . . . just that I want to investigate further.  I don't have any Heavy crankbait rods (except my 8 foot Powell which may be a MH).

Investigation is good, my friend.  By all means do so - have all your little law clerks searching and give you the memo's  :evil:, sorry, I forgot - you don't like lawyer jokes.  :grin:  Anyway, now that I kicked you in the groin and had a little fun at your expense, you have the offer for "hands on" for some of the sticks you have under consideration anyway.  You still have the offer of the discount I can get you, I won't post the actual price here, but it is good on the Argon.  I can get other Kistler's discounted also - pretty decent on the Magnesium's, but only a little bit on the '09 LTA's.  My source does not handle the LTX.  If you decide on a Kistler, call me - I can get most any '09 rod and save you some precious cash.
