Battery Jump Starter

I was just at my local Pep Boys and came across a 300 amp jump starter from Peak. It was only $30!!!

After getting stuck on the Nanticoke last year this thing is a must have for boaters.

Just passing on the good deal i got.... first time i have seen one for less then $60 with that many amps...

I have the 300 amp Black and Decker jumper.
Think it was somewhere between $50 and $60.
Haven't had to use it on the boat yet, but its saved my butt a couple times in the truck.

I carry jumper cables.  Can always use the trolling motor batteries to start the motor.

Not sure if there are any negative effects using the TM battery as a starting battery. With the battery jumper i am only dealing with the 1 battery..

I will always carry the cable just in case....

You can hook up to the trolling battery to start your motor, if it has enough juice left in it.  Eli's motor doesn't need the amps a 200 Opti does to crank it over so He won't have a problem with that.
And also if you ever jump it, you run a 24 volt system, so unhook the jumper wire between the 2 trolling batteries, otherwise you'll send 24 volts into the motor and possibly fry your electronic boards.

I agree with not using 24 volts to jump.  I have 24V 2 batteries for the trolling motor.  I have another single TM battery that I use for the Transom trolling motor.
