Chester County Bass Masters held their third of five opens for the season on July 26th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

The title sponsor for the tournament was Pro-Action Restoration of Holmes, Pa. http://www.proactionrestoration.com/

16 Teams showed up on an overcast last Saturday of July to search for some of the Upper Bay largemouth's.

Morning air temps around 61 rose to the upper 80's by weigh in. Morning cloud cover and a light wind turned to heavier cloud cover with a few sprinkles depending on where you were on the bay, then a steady 10 - 15 wind blowing straight up the bay. Sun came out to heat things up later in the afternoon.
Water temps were in the 80 - 85 degree range depending where you fished, with stained water in the Northeast.

Launching on almost a dead low tide sent teams scrambling to find decent waters with most heading down to the Flats looking for some big females.

7 limits were brought to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in, including 5 bags over 15 pounds.

4 cash places were paid, along with 3 sponsor gift cards from Tackle Depot, Sunoco and D2 Lures

First place cash went to the team of Keith and Zach Cowan bringing in a healthy 5 fish limit of 20.71 pounds with a big fish of 4.76 pounds.

Second place money and Tournament Lunker went  to the team of Sean Geerlof and Stan Horne with a nice limit of Upper Bay Bass weighing in at 19.35 pounds and the tournament lunker of 5.41 pounds.

Third place prize money went to the team of Jerry Gerlach and Mark Ely with an impressive bag of 18.07 pounds.

Fourth place cash went to the team of Bryce Melchior and Barry Townsend with a 5 fish limit for 15.67 pounds.

5th place paid a $ 50.00 gift card to Tackle Depot in Malvern, Pa. and went to the team of Ryan Fry and Art Oswald with a limit weighing 15.19 Lbs.

6th place $ 25.00 Sunoco gas Card went to the team of Steve Weimar and Sam Montalto with a weight of 14.20 pounds.

7th place $ 25.00 D2 Lures gift certificate went to Harry Nurk.

Thanks to everyone who participated. Our next Open out of Anchor Marine will be on Saturday September 20th.
