Chester County Bass Masters held their last Open of the season on Saturday Nov 8th on the Upper Bay from Anchor Marine's ramp.

Title sponsor for the tournament was The Tackle Depot from Malvern, Pa.

29 Teams launched with air temps around 30 and water temps at 49 / 50 degrees with normal water color. High skies with little cloud cover and 5 mph winds that eventually picked up to 10 - 15 made for a cold start.

Fortunately the winds held off until the sun was able to warm the air temps into the 40's, enough to keep the ice off the rod guides and ditch the gloves.

The tournament started on a dead low tide that was lower than normal with the full moon, high tide was expected to be around 11:00.

The bass were scattered and only 6 limits were brought to the scales for the 2:30 weigh in, including 2 bags over 20 pounds, excellent weights for the Upper Bay the past few weeks.

First place Cash went to Keith and Zach Cowan, no strangers to the Upper Bay bass.  Team Cowan brought 5 big bass to the scales to the tune of 24.19 pounds to walk away with the win and a nice payout.

Anchoring their winning bag was a healthy 6.04 big fish that also procured them the second place lunker prize from Eagle One, a supply of boat care cleaners, waxes and products.

Second place money was won by the team of John Richick and Joe Williams whose 5 fish limit settled on the scales at 21.37 pounds, an outstanding weight for the Upper Bay lately.

Their bag was anchored by a beautiful Upper Bay bass of 6.34 pounds earning them the tournament Lunker cash for the event.

Third Place bucks were earned by John Valdez and Ed Davis who brought in a 5 fish limit weighing 16.78 pounds, squeezing out the next team by 0.22 pounds.

Fourth Place coin belonged to Herb Geissler and Mike Adams with a 5 fish limit of 16.56 pounds.

Fifth place dough went to Mike Morris who brought in 5 bass for 16.20 pounds, just 0.36 pounds out of fourth.

Sixth place earned the last currency payout and was won by Rob Grieb and Rick Davis who brought 4 fish to the scales for 13.55 pounds.

The next six teams earned sponsor Gift cards:

Seventh place team of Jerry and Mike Searling weighed in 3 fish for 12.78 to win a $ 50.00 Tackle Depot gift card.

Eighth place went to Mike Piccolo who brought in 5 fish for 10.45 pounds to win a $ 25.00 GRT Jigs gift card.

Ninth place went to James McMullen and John Hasslebartz with 3 bass for 10.10 pounds to win a $ 25.00 Sunoco Gas Card.

Tenth place Power Team Lures gift cards went to Scott Dise and Troy Rosenzweig weighing 2 for 9.22 pounds including a nice 5.60 big fish.

Eleventh place went to Dave Ciarletta and Dave Bolesta winning Power Team Lures gift cards bringing in 2 fish for 8.13, they also had a nice fat bass of 5.50 pounds.

Twelfth place also won a Power Team Lures gift card, Rick Dilenno brought in 2 bass for 8.10 pounds.
