Chester County Bass Masters held their 3rd of five opens for the 2017 season on September 16th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

39 Teams showed up on a beautiful end of summer Saturday to search for some of the Upper Bay's black bass.  The fish had been in the normal Upper Bay late summer funk before the fall transition, making decent catches sporadic for the past few weeks.

Air temps at launch were around 65 with very light wind. The tournament launched at 6:30 under partly cloudy skies with a forecast high of 85.

Water temps were in the 75 degree range depending on where you fished. Water color was stained in most areas with some muddy conditions in a few areas.

Launch was on a rising tide with high around 7:45 and anglers due back at 2:30.

11 five fish limits were brought in with 3 other teams having 4 fish. 12 double digit weights were brought to the scales.
2 bass over 5 pounds were weighed in, including a 5.16 Smallmouth

8 cash places were paid, along with 11 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle, River Bottom Reels, Cabela's of Christiana Mall,  Nauti Goose Restaurant,  Sunoco,  Hi Seas fishing line,  Zee Bait Company,  Dobyns Rods, GRT Jigs, and Cal Coast fishing Clip n Cull.

Thanks to everyone who came out to fish, we and our sponsors appreciate the support and friendly competition.

The next Chester County tournament of 2017 will be on Saturday, October 7th out of Anchor Marine.
