Chester County Bass Masters held their last of five Points Opens for the 2022 season on October 29th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

55 boats participated in the final points tournament of the year with a handful of Teams looking to finish as one of the top 6 teams for 2022.

Air temps at launch were around 40 with no wind. The tournament launched at 7:00 under sunny skies with a forecast high of 62.

The winds picked up around 9 am to 5 - 10 mph with a bluebird sky.

Water temps were in the 57 - 61 degree range depending on where you fished. Water color was a little off colored in some areas and muddy in a few.

Launch was on a falling tide, with low around 9:30 and high around 2:00 pm.

6 flights went out with the first flight due back at 3:00 and each additional flight of 10 boats due back ten minutes apart.


18 five fish limits were brought in.
24 Double Digit bags were weighed
16 bass over 4 pounds were weighed in.
  3 bass over 5 pounds were weighed in.

6 cash places were paid, along with 21 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle, Rhino linings of Delaware, Dobyns Rods, Zee Bait Company, Steak & Main Restaurant, Eastern Marine of Newark, Nichols Lures, 13 Fishing, Cabelas - Pauls Plastering, Buff USA, Pro-Tec Boat Care Products, Harmony Fishing Tackle, Bass Pro Shops, Boomerang Tools, Smallmouth Crush, Hayabusa Hooks, Native Tungsten Weights, Hi Seas Line, Bass Cat, Simms, Venom Lures, Trailer Parts Superstore of Newark, Upper Bay outdoors, Buck Brook Alpacas, Black Rifle Coffee Company and Accu-Cull.

22 boats participated in $ 60 option pot which paid 3 spots.


The winning boat is eligible for the Power Pole Captains Cash and the T & H Marine contingency cash if they are signed up for those programs.

The next Chester County Open tournament of 2022 will be on Saturday, November 12th out of Anchor Marine.
This will be a non points cash Open paying 3 places. Same entry fee / Option Pot.

First place cash payout and championship plaques went to a team that has won a few times over the years at our Opens. They are no strangers to winning on the Upper Bay in the Fall and are always a threat for a top 10 finish in any tournament they enter.

Mike Piccolo and Scott McAnulty pulled off the win on a day the bite was tough for a lot of the anglers and won by 2+ pounds over second place.

The 2018 CCBM Opens Points Champ were looking for a top 6 finish in the 2022 points race with this one TX left.

The pair found the right bites to bring in a 5 fish limit of 20.36 Lbs to take home the win and a nice cash payout.
Their big fish was 4.82 lbs.

The Team also took home additional $$$$$ by entering the $ 60 Option Pot and taking first place cash there.

They are also eligible for the Power Pole Contingency cash for $ 250, and the T & H Marine Contingency $$$ if signed up for the programs.

Second place cash went to Richard Leadbeater and Chris Hutchinson. The team put together an outstanding 5 fish limit for this day weighing in at 17.84 Lbs.
Their big fish was 4.72 lbs.

The pair also entered the Option Pot taking home the $$$ for 2nd place from that voluntary pot.

Along with 2nd place cash, the team also received a nice package of products from Dobyns Rods !

Third place money was won by Conor Cahill and Adam Satanoff who brought a 5 fish limit to the scales that topped out at 16.87 Lbs., putting some cash in their pockets.

Conor and Adam also took home the Black Rifle Coffee 3rd Lunker and $ 75 bag of Black Rifle Coffee / product with a 5.01 Upper Bay bass.

The pair also entered the Option Pot taking home the $$$$ for 3rd place from that voluntary pot.

Fourth place dough was earned by Joe DellaValle and Dan Hawley weighing in a 5 fish bag for 16.85 Lbs.
Their big fish was 4.41 lbs.

Fifth place coin went to Donnie Tomlin fishing solo who weighed in 5 fish for 16.77 Lbs.

Sixth place and the last cash spot was collected by the team of Mike Machmer and Denny Bianco who brought 5 fish to the scales for 16.65 Lbs.  Nice finish in a big field of quality anglers.

The team also won the Accu-Cull 4th Lunker award with a nice 4.95 Lb. Upper Bay bass that earned them a $ 75 Digital Accu-Cull scale.

The team brought in 5 bass for 15.94 Lbs. giving them a $ 50 Cabelas card from Paul's Plastering of New Castle.

Ninth place was won by the defending 2021 Points Champs, Duane Essick and Jay Pirollo. The team brought in 5 bass for 15.50 Lbs.
