Chester County Bass Masters held their 2nd of five Points Opens for the 2023 season on June 3rd out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

85 Teams showed up on a Full Moon late spring Saturday in search of a 5 fish limit of Upper Bay black bass.

Water temps were in the 70 - 74 range depending on where you fished.

The weather had finally stabilized over the past few weeks with sunshine and little rain allowing the Bay to clear up and the bass to move up.

Air temps at launch were around 55 with little wind. The tournament launched at 5:30 under partly cloudy skies with a forecast high of 70.

Launch was on a rising tide with high around 10:45 am. (low was 4 am)

Nine flights went out with the first flight due back at 2:30 and each additional flight of 10 boats due back ten minutes apart.

42 five fish limits were brought in.
7 teams had 4 fish
12 bass over 4 pounds were weighed in.
2 bass over 5 pounds were weighed in.

9 cash places were paid, along with 21 sponsor prizes from Henlopen Bait and Tackle, Susquehanna Tackle, Dobyns Rods, Zee Bait Company, Epic Eric's Bass Lab, Bass University, Steak & Main Restaurant, Eastern Marine of Newark, Nichols Lures, 13 Fishing, Cabelas - Pauls Plastering, Buff USA, Pro-Tec Boat Care Products, Harmony Fishing Tackle, Bass Pro Shops, Boomerang Tools, Hayabusa Hooks, Reins, Native Tungsten Weights, Bass Cat, Simms, Venom Lures, Trailer Parts Superstore of Newark, Buck Brook Alpacas, Vexan and In Depth Installs.

37 boats participated in $ 60 option pot which paid 3 spots.

The top 3 teams were all in the in the Option pot adding more cash to their winnings.

The winning boat is eligible for the Power Pole Captains Cash and the T & H Marine contingency cash if they are signed up for those programs.

They are also eligible for any of the 7 Boat Manufacturer Contingency programs CCBM Opens offer if they are signed up for their boats program.

First place cash payout and championship plaques went to Tom Bavaro and Brian Dyson who won by 6.7 ounces over the second place team.

The pair found the right bites to bring in a 5 fish limit of 20.31 Lbs to take home the win and a really nice payout.

The Team also took home additional $$$$$ by entering the $ 60 Option Pot and taking first place cash there.

Second place cash went to Mike Piccolo and Scott Mcanulty. The team put together an outstanding 5 fish limit for this day weighing in at 19.89 Lbs.

The pair weighed in a 5.40 Upper Bay Hog to take home the Susquehanna Fishing Tackle 2nd Lunker for the tournament earning them a $ 100 SFT gift card.

The pair also entered the Option Pot taking home the $$$$ for 2nd place from that voluntary pot.

Third place money was won by Jay Burger and Josh Burger who brought a 5 fish limit to the scales that topped out at 17.54 Lbs. putting some nice cash in their pockets.

They are on top of the 2023 standings having won our first Open along with this 3rd place finish !

The pair also entered the Option Pot taking home the $$$$ for 3rd place from that voluntary pot.

Fourth place dough was earned by Tim Nichols and Troy Burger weighing in a 5 fish bag for 17.29 Lbs.
Their big fish was 4.14 lbs.

Congrats to Tim and Troy on a nice limit of Upper Bay bass for the day !

Fifth place coin went to the team of Conor Cahill and Adam Satanoff who weighed in 5 fish for 17.05 Lbs.

These guys are consistent this year with their second 5th place finish in 2 tournaments.

Sixth place cash was collected by the team of Mike Sentore and Sean McKee who brought 5 fish to the scales for 16.90 Lbs. with a big fish of 4.23 Lbs. Nice finish in a big field of quality anglers.

Seventh place money was snagged by the team of Jerry Gerlach and Mark Ely with 5 fish weighing 16.81 Lbs. with a big fish of 3.97 Lbs. Great weight for the Bay.

Ninth place and last money spot was secured by Keith and Zach Cowan who brought 5 fish to the scales for 16.62 Lbs., getting great points towards the 2023 Championship top 5 teams and the Two Bassmaster Weekend Championship berths from Our Open Series.

Tenth place and first team out of the money was secured by the team of TJ Sawhney and Dave Wilt who weighed in 5 for 16.42 Lbs.
Their big fish was 2.73 Lbs.
