Did you guys get your FLW magazine yet?  Check page 34.  I read a bit about this last year, and talked to the mechanics at Reading Boat Works today when I dropped off my boat.  If you read the article, one of these filters is pretty cheap insurance to protect against water in your fuel.  I'm having the Yamaha filter installed while they're doing the other stuff.  Mercury also has a similiar filter for their engines available at Bass Pro Shops.  Read the article and make up your own mind, but for me the price of a shop making repairs to a HP outboard that gets a drink of water, this is cheap protection.

My mercury has a water separator filter built into it.
